  • Fall Plant Sale & Give Away

    Green Thumbs throughout the island take note: The town sponsored Fall Plant Sale & Give Away is scheduled for Saturday, October 5 from 9am- noon and Dauphin Island property owners are encouraged to stop in and pick up your FREE plants! In addition, vendors will be on site selling a variety of plants, trees, shrubs, and more and our local Master Gardeners will be there to offer helpful tips on how to make your new plants thrive. The plant sale will be held in front of Green Park and the town's Environental Mitigation Fund will be used to provide plants for the give-away. See you there!

  • St. Edmund Church Shrimp Boil

    4:00 PM

    St. Edmond Church will have a Shrimp Boil Dinner Fundraiser on Saturday, October 5 from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm at the Church Hall. All attendees will be able to eat in or takeout. Dinners will be $12 per person and include shrimp, potatoes, corn, condiments, desserts, ice tea and lemonade. We will need volunteers for setup before and to assist at the event. Please plan on coming and spread the news of the event to neighbors, friends, and family.

    2019 Sunset Concerts Coming Soon  The popular Sunset Concert series, sponsored by the town of Dauphin Island, will be getting underway in just over a month and the first (and last) event will once again be held at historic Fort Gaines. All other concerts will be held at West End Beach (WEB). While all of the musical groups are currently not secured, you can bet each of the seven concerts will be enjoyable ones. The schedule is as follows; May 5 (Fort Gaines), May 26 (WEB-Memorial Day Weekend), June 23 (WEB), July 28 (WEB)- Excelsior Bank @ 6pm, August 11 (WEB-Reggae Weekend)- featuring Ja' Rhythm @ 6pm, Sept. 1 (WEB-Labor Day Weekend)- Eric Erdman, Ryan Balthrop & Friends @ 5:30pm, and Oct. 13 (Fort Gaines) featuring Roman Street @ 4:30 pm. Start times will vary but concerts usually begin about 2 hours prior to sunset. A complete schedule with artists and start times will be forthcoming. Admission is $5 per person (Age 13 & up) with children 12 & under receiving free admission. Mark your calendars and join in on the fun!

This is the 102nd Anniversary of the Fatima Miracle of the Sun! Participants will gather at the West End Beach at 3:00 pm.   • Tri the Gulf Triathlon

    7:00 AM

    Sponsored by the Mobile Bar Foundation, the Tri the Gulf Triathlon is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event that includes a 600 yard swim, 16.7 mile bike and 3.25 mile run. The race will be held on Saturday, October 19 (7am start) and begin and end at the Isle Dauphine complex after traversing multiple island streets, bike trail and the DI Bridge. Note: DI Police, Fire & Rescue and a host of volunteers will be out in force assisting with trffic and pedestrian safety. Motorists should expect delays especially when crossing the DI Bridge as traffic will be reduced to one-lane/pilot car (approx. 6am - 10am) as in previous years. Please be patient! Age Divisions include; Age Group (by 5 year increments) 16 years to 70 years, Clydesdale & Athena, Lawyer Division, Fat Tire Division, Novice/First Timer and Relay Team (2-3 persons). Race packet pick-ups are as foloows; Oct. 17 & 18 (11am-7pm) Pro Health Fitness Center at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center Campus and Oct. 19 (5am - 6:30am) Isle Dauphine Club (race day and site).   • 36th Annual Renaissance Frestival GATALOP 36

    Historic Fort Gaines will host the 36th Annual Renaissance Festival GATLOP 36 on October 25-26 at 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Hosted by the Society of Creative Anachronism, the Barony of Osprey will present Life in the Middle Ages. You'll see Knights in Armor as they storm the castle while viewing melees and sieges. Visit with Lords, Ladies, Artists and Medieval Merchants. Get up close and personal with our resident blacksmith as he demonstrates his craft in the fort's original Blacksmith Shop. 

  • 3rd Annual Haunted Bike Ride

    6:15 PM

    Dust off those capes, hats, spooky costumes, check the air in your bike tires and get ready for the Massacre Island Haunted Bike Ride that will take place on Friday, October 25. Riders are encouraged to gather at Green Park by 5:15pm (ride starts at 6:15 pm) and be prepared to bike to Ft. Gaines, Goat Trees and Shell Mounds all for a good cause. All bikes must have lights. No motorized vehicles or pets allowed. After-party and awards ceremony will be held at Dority's featuring live music by the Redhouse Band. Children are invited to watch the bike parade, get free candy, dance & play at the after-party but the ride is limited to adults only (Age 18 & up) for safety reasons.     6:00 PM

    Join us for the third annual Gulf Seafood Gala on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 6:00 pm- 9:00 pm at the Isle Dauphine Club! Enjoy locally-sourced Gulf seafood prepared by Dority's Gill, Pirate's Bar & Grill, Islanders Restaurant, JT's Sunset Grill, Waves, Island Rainbow, Pelican Reef Restaurant, and Catalina Restaurant, and served in a relaxed atmosphere at the iconic Isle Dauphine. A full cash bar will be available. Live music and a silent auction of original art will round out a memorable Dauphin Island experience. Admission is by prepurchased ticket only.   • Trick or Treat at Green Park

    12:00 AM

    Kids of all ages are encouraged to stop by Green Park (if you dare!) on Halloween night (Thursday, October 31) to share in an assortment of spooktacularly tasty treats provided by the town, police department, and local citizens. Island residents are invited to set up a table and chairs (you can even decorate your area and come in costume!) in the park to hand out goodies to all the ghosts and goblins that evening. A hantingly good time awaits!
