  • 31st Annual Miss Dauphin Island Pageant

    7:00 PM

    The 31st Annual Miss Dauphin Island Pageant will be held at the St. Edmund Center on Friday, December 6 at 7pm. Girls age 2-18 that reside on the island and/or attend DI School are encouraged to participate in one of five categories including Tiny Miss (age 2-4), Little Miss (age 5-8), Sweet Miss (age 9-11), Junior Miss (age 12-14) and Miss DI (age 15-18).   • Christmas Parade

    11:00 AM

    On Saturday,  December 7, the town Christmas Parade will roll down Bienville Blvd. from Cadillac Square to the DI School starting at 11am and you’re invited to join in on the fun. If you'd like to be in the parade please be at Cadillac Square no later than 10 am. For more information on this event, please contact Maggie Godwin at 861-5525 X223.

  • Christmas Tree Lighting

    5:00 PM

    The annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, will get going around 5pm on December 7 at Water Tower Plaza and will include pictures with Santa, caroling, snow ball fights, hot chocolate, cookies and more. Small Christmas trees will be available to business owners, individuals and others to participate in the decorating with their own theme. More info to come.   • Little Red School House Plaque Unveiling

    5:00 PM

    Friday, December 13 could be your lucky night when we gather to unveil yet another plaque recognizing the historic Little Red Schoolhouse. Join us for a Silent Auction, tasty eats & drinks, music and fellowship taking place from 5-7pm. Built in 1931, the Little Red Schoolhouse has served the Dauphin Island community for nearly nine decades as an educational facility. the building currently houses a museum, welcome center, lending library (now exceeding 6000 books!), computer center and gift shop. Be sure and mark you calendar for this special event!

  • 35th Annual Christmas Thru the Ages

    9:00 AM

    35th Annual Christmas Through the Ages (December 14  9am-5pm) - Experience a Christmas of “days gone by” at this living history event on the sacred grounds of Fort Gaines. Join soldiers and their families from the 1700’s-1900’s as they celebrate a non-traditional and non-commercial holiday. Visiting children can make seashell Christmas tree ornaments and other decorations. For more info on these and other events please call 251-861-6992. 

  • Christmas Boat Parade

    The Dauphin Island Christmas Boat Parade sponsored by the DIPOA will be at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14th. All boat owners are invited to participate. Last year’s renewal of the event was a great success with 17 boats participating. Call DIPOA President Dennis Knizley, 432-3799, 751-8100 to register for this year’s event.
