    The town is sponsoring a colorful patriotic pyrotechnic display that will light up the night sky starting at 9 PM! The show will take place at the public beach next to DI School.

    Personal fireworks are prohibited on the Island.

    More than 3000 anglers are expected to take to area waters during the 86th Annual Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo, July 19-21! Once again, the Mobile Jaycees have put together a super line up of Musical Entertainment at the Rodeo site for all to enjoy as follows: Thursday, July 18; 7pm- Rollin' in the Hay, Friday, July 19; 4 pm- Blues in Trouble, 7:30 pm- The Molly Ringwalds, Saturday, July 20; 3:30 pm- Prime Country, 5 pm- The Red Clay Strays. Sunday, July 21; 11 am- Bruce Smelley, 3 pm- Keith Burns and the Back Pew Riders. FREE Admission!!

     You also won't want to miss the always popular Liar's Contest that will take place around 6 pm on Thursday, July 18!

    The popular live storytellig series "Stirring the Sand" returns Tuesday, July 23 at 6:30 pm at the Dauphin Island Gallery (The Lighthouse Building, 918 Bienville Boulevard). Hear stories of life on Dauphin Island in days gone by and learn about Island legends and folklore. Come prepared to tell your stories about life on the Island! Mayor Jeff Collier will lead and and moderate the program. Free and open to the public.

    Last Friday Art night, an Island tradition, will be held on July 26, 6-8pm at Dauphin Island Gallery. Join friends and neighbors at LFAN and enjoy local art and heritage, music, food and socializing. LFAN for July will include a special reception for Guest Artisit Patrick Turner, an art demonstration, and music by singer/songwriter Bruce Jones. Donations are requested and appreciated!

    2019 Sunset Concerts Coming Soon  The popular Sunset Concert series, sponsored by the town of Dauphin Island, will be getting underway in just over a month and the first (and last) event will once again be held at historic Fort Gaines. All other concerts will be held at West End Beach (WEB). While all of the musical groups are currently not secured, you can bet each of the seven concerts will be enjoyable ones. The schedule is as follows; May 5 (Fort Gaines), May 26 (WEB-Memorial Day Weekend), June 23 (WEB), July 28 (WEB)- Excelsior Bank @ 6pm, August 11 (WEB-Reggae Weekend)- featuring Ja' Rhythm @ 6pm, Sept. 1 (WEB-Labor Day Weekend)- Eric Erdman, Ryan Balthrop & Friends @ 5:30pm, and Oct. 13 (Fort Gaines). Start times will vary but concerts usually begin about 2 hours prior to sunset. A complete schedule with artists and start times will be forthcoming. Admission is $5 per person (Age 13 & up) with children 12 & under receiving free admission. Mark your calendars and join in on the fun!
